Rodgers & Hart. At their heyday they were among the popular songwriters in America. They wrote songs for both Broadway and the movies. Many of their songs were sung by Judy Garland and Mickey Rooney when they did several pictures together like “Babes in Arms” or “Strike Up the Band”. Perhaps their best-known song is “Blue Moon”. Their successful collaboration ended with Lorenz Hart’s untimely death in 1943 but their songs live on and are considered the gold standard of the American Songbook.
A unique observation is that after Hart's passing Rodgers found a new lyricist to write songs with, Oscar Hammerstein II and the music he wrote with Hammerstein is nothing like that of which he wrote with Hart proving who you are paired with as a songwriting team heavily impacts your output!
