Kurt Weill straddled the genres of Classical and Broadway music. Emigrating to the United States in the 1020's he is perhaps best known for his theatrical collaborations with the playwright, Bertold Brecht and for the song, 'Mack the Knife', from the musical play, "The Three Penny Opera". Weill wrote complex songs that have appealed to singers for close to 100 years now.
Here is one of his songs, 'Alabama Song' sung by his muse and lover, Lotte Lenya. In 2007, 'LoveMusik", a musical exploring Weill's music and his and Lenya's relationship debuted on Broadway.
