Jerry Herman, Composer & Lyricist

Jerry Herman was a child prodigy that became a composer/lyricist of some of the most successfully commercial songs of his time. Who doesn’t know, “Hello Dolly”, “Mame”, or La Cage aux Folles”? His song form that latter show “I Am What I Am” has become a gay anthem. And even though the show was a flop, his songs for “Dear World” are among my favorites.
