Forgotten Pop Singers: Jo Stafford

Jo Stafford is almost an unknown today but she had a huge career from the 1930's to the 1980's. She sang with the Pied Pipers and Tommy Dorsey and his band as well as recording many albums. Possessing a beautifully warm voice she was professionally trained as an operatic singer but chose a pop career instead. Her training allowed her to adapt and change styles effortlessly. Her biggest hit, "You Belong To Me" reached number 1 in both the US and the UK.
