Composing Team: Jerry Ross & Richard Adler

They both wrote music and lyrics and from the start were a hit working as a team. Their show, "Pajama Game" won the 1955 Tony Award for Best Musical. Their other show, "Damn Yankees" went on to win the Best Musical Tony Award the following year! Sadly, Jerry Ross, who was just 29 at the time, died shortly thereafter cutting their collaboration short. Together, they also wrote the Tony Bennett hit, "Rags to Riches".

Richard Adler went on to write songs and shows with others but unfortunately never found the success on Broadway that he had with Ross.
