Jimmy Van Heusen was a four-time Oscar winner for Best Song. He wrote for both the theatre and Hollywood but it’s tinsel town that gave him the most success. Charismatic and engaging he composed over 1000 songs and 50 of those are considered “standards” today. Songs like, “Ain’t That A Kick in the Head”, “Call Me Irresponsible”, “High Hopes” and perhaps his best known, “Swinging On a Star”.
